Transitional fiscal law in case of a no deal Brexit

Transitional fiscal law in case of a no deal Brexit

7 February 2019

On 15 January 2019, a majority of the UK Parliament voted against Theresa May’s Brexit deal, thus opposing the approval of the Withdrawal Agreement between the United Kingdom and the European Union. Because of the continuing lack of clarity, the Dutch State Secretary of Finance wants to draft (short-term) tax transitional law, to be taken into effect in case of a no deal Brexit. No transitional law will apply to customs legislation. The transitional law will be laid down in a policy decision.
